His Little Flower

You are the Lord’s little flower
Grown by His love and His power
Through light you are nourished
In care, you then flourish
With the rain of the Spirit you’re showered

At first you had so many needs
Just starting out from a seed
But soon you matured
Now ready to serve
The Creator of all land and sea

-- Charity, girl, age 14

"Like a lily among the thorns, So is my darling among the maidens."  (Song of Solomon 2:2)

"My beloved has gone down to his garden, To the beds of balsam, To pasture his flock in the gardens And gather lilies." (Song of Solomon 6:2)

"As for man, his days are like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes." (Psa 103:15)

"And the LORD will continually guide you, And satisfy your desire in scorched places, And give strength to your bones; And you will be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail." (Isa 58:11)

"So let us know, let us press on to know the LORD. His going forth is as certain as the dawn; And He will come to us like the rain, Like the spring rain watering the earth." (Hos 6:3)

"Sow with a view to righteousness, Reap in accordance with kindness; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the LORD Until He comes to rain righteousness on you." (Hos 10:12)

Author's note The poems in this blog were written by my children, ages seven through fourteen. The "In the Garden" painting © 2012 is by Danny Hahlbohm, all rights reserved by the artist. The "Why This Blog" post explains how the Lord inspired these poems in answer to a prayer during illness. I also recommend visiting my children's blog, A Brush with Life, where you will also find beautiful art they have drawn for the glory of God. You can access my complete blog directory at "Writing for the Master." Now I'd like to ask a very important question.

Do You Want to Know Him?
If you want to know Jesus personally, you can. It all begins when you repent and believe in Jesus.  Do you know what God's Word, the Bible says?

“Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, and saying, ‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.’” (Mar 1:14b-15).  He preached that we must repent and believe.

Please see my explanation of this in my post called "Do You Want to Know Jesus?"
