The Time is Near

Yesterday my 7-year old son, C.R., came to me and said, "I was sitting on my bed, thinking of writing a poem called 'The Time is Near.'  Then suddenly these four lines came to my mind.  So I quickly got up and grabbed a pen and paper, and wrote them down before I forgot them."

When he read his entire poem to me, I was blessed by it.  I encouraged him and then made a couple suggestions like adding a very first line that says, "Jesus Christ is coming soon!" and another line that says, "Or hold a grudge."  So this is what he wrote, including those minor revisions:

Jesus Christ is coming soon!
The time is near
And there is fear
The devil’s going there and here

The devil’s going to and fro
And I want you to know
The Church just needs to grow
You are going to be judged
Though some people won’t budge

Wake up! Wake up!
Don’t just sit and eat your fudge
Or hold a grudge

Wake up! The time is near
For there will be fear
In the hearts of those who don't know
Jesus, who gives us ears to hear

-- C.R., boy, age 7

"Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. (Eph 5:14-16)

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. (1Pe 5:6-9)

And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, "Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death. Therefore, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short!" (Rev 12:10-12)

"Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay everyone for what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end." (Rev 22:12-13)

Do You Want to Know Him?
If you want to know Jesus personally, you can. It all begins when you repent and believe in Jesus.  Do you know what God's Word, the Bible says?

“Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, and saying, ‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.’” (Mar 1:14b-15).  He preached that we must repent and believe.

Please see my explanation of this in my post called "Do You Want to Know Jesus?"
